A North Carolina sheriff’s deputy was fired after he allegedly robbed a financial institution Tuesday.

Jeff Athey was arrested and charged with robbing the financial institution at round four p.m. Davidson County Sheriff David Grice stated, Fox eight reported.

Grice stated Athey was terminated instantly after he carried out the crime.

No one was harm throughout the theft and Athey submitted to the arresting officers, Grice stated.
