On May 2, the steering committee of the first Women Build for Lowcountry Habitat for Humanity in Northern Beaufort Country held a kickoff cocktail party to share information and encourage support of the home to be built in downtown Beaufort near the intersection of Prince and Hamar streets.
We thank Atlantic Rental for all the necessary glasses, plates and silverware; the Beaufort Inn, Missy Trumpore of Beaufort Catering, Debbi Covington and Barbara Andrews for providing food; Maddies' Flower Basket and Sally Hendricks for the beautiful flower arrangements; Jean Kendall of The Paper Company for the invitations; Thad Lane and India Stone for bartending; and Betty Garren for entertaining us.
We are grateful to Nancy Pratt for generously opening her lovely home for the event and providing the liquid refreshments. To all in attendance who supported us despite the bridge and traffic issues, we are appreciative. Community members who wish to get involved with this project should contact Volunteer Co-chair Milbrey Gnann at 521-4015. Those wishing to make a donation should send a check made out to Lowcountry Habitat for Humanity and marked WOMEN BUILD in the lower left corner to: Lowcountry Habit for Humanity,
616 Parris Island Gateway, Beaufort, SC 29906.
