Rep. Andy Patrick, R-Hilton Head, and Rep. Peter McCoy, R-Charleston, both announced endorsements Thursday in their run for the 1st Congressional District.
Patrick received the endorsement of Hilton Head Island Councilwoman Kim Likins in his run for the 1st Congressional District.
"Andy is a strong voice for Beaufort County and our Lowcountry values in Columbia," Likins said in a statement. "I am confident that he will be an equally strong voice for our community in Congress."
McCoy picked up endorsements from Charleston County Coroner Rae Wooten and Kiawah Island Mayor Charles Lipuma.
"Peter McCoy is a dedicated father and public servant, whose compassion and work-ethic would be invaluable in Washington," Wooten said in a statement. "Peter's leadership and ability to solve problems will serve the 1st district well."
