Codrian Smalls is friends with college wrestling coaches on Facebook and is working to decide his next step.
The favorite, as evidenced by the Beaufort High School wrestler's T-shirt on Thursday, is Newberry. Smalls wants to join the Wolves.
He still has work remaining with the Eagles, starting today at the Class 4-A individual Lower State meet and later at the state meet in Anderson.
Smalls enters Lower State as the No. 1 seed at 182. He hasn't wrestled any of the others in his bracket.
"I've been thinknig about it a lot this week," Smalls said. "I've seen them wrestle. These guys, all they are about is hips. They have great lower bodies, but not so much upper. If I can take out both legs, everything else will go with it."
Smalls is No. 5 in Class 4-A at 182. The Beaufort Gazette and The Island Packet caught up with him this week before the Lower State meet for our Two-Minute Drill.
