A Hilton Head Island man suspected of peeping at women in South Forest Beach over the past several months was arrested last night after a resident spotted him lurking outside of an apartment complex, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
A resident of Beach Arbor Villas on DeAllyon Avenue called deputies at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday after seeing a man run away from the complex, according to a news release. The same resident had seen the man outside of the apartments, sometimes hiding in the bushes, multiple times over the past several weeks.
After a search, deputies found and arrested 32-year-old Rocky Gadson nearby, the release said. He matched the description of the Beach Arbor Villas voyeur, and is suspected in other Peeping Tom and indecent exposure cases at the Metropolitan Hotel, Tanglewood Villas, the Comfort Inn on Tanglewood Drive and the Treetops apartments on Cordillo Parkway, the release said.
So far, deputies have managed to pin one of those cases on Gadson, which occurred in October 2012. He allegedly climbed a ladder to look at a 25-year-old woman through her second-story bedroom window at the Ocean Breeze Apartments, according to a release.
Gadson, a Cordillo Courts resident, has been charged with one count of Peeping Tom in the October 2012 case, though more charges may be pending.
