Region 5-A champion Whale Branch Early College High School opened the first round of the Class 1-A girls basketball playoffs Monday night with a 58-18 rout of visiting Lincoln.
Point guard Kemoni Jenkins notched 15 points and four assists for the Warriors, who led by 38 at halftime after holding Lincoln scoreless over the opening two quarters.
Sharrin Reed had 11 points, Jonae Riley contributed eight points and a team-high six rebounds and S'Nitra Mack posted nine points and five steals.
Whale Branch (19-3) plays again at home on Thursday, facing C.E. Murray in a second-round matchup.
