A Burton homeowner and several guests were robbed at gunpoint during a poker game in a garage just before midnight Wednesday, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
The 30-year-old homeowner, who lives on Country Manor Road, said a man came in through an unlocked side door carrying a handgun and ordered everyone to the floor.
The robber made one of the victims collect cash from each player and put the money in a bag. A news release said the robber ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash and two cellphones. No one was injured.
The suspect is described as a slender, light-skinned black man wearing a green hooded sweatshirt with a gold design, and a mask that covered the lower half of his face.
The victims also reported he yelled to someone they couldn't see, who was standing outside the garage during the robbery.
