Former Gov. Mark Sanford will make one of his first speeches as a 1st Congressional District candidate at the Hilton Head Island 1st Monday Republican Lunch Group.

Sanford is to appear at noon Feb. 4 at Aunt Chiladas Restaurant.

He is vying for the seat held by Tim Scott, a Charleston Republican who replaced retired U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint on Jan. 3.

The public is welcome, and no reservations are required. Lunch, beverage, tax and tip are $10.
