Beaufort County Parks and Leisure Services will hold an American Red Cross lifeguard course at the Battery Creek indoor pool in February.
Participants must be at least 15 years old by Feb. 4 and pass a swimming assessment before being accepted into the class. The swim test will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the public pool at Battery Creek High School, 1 Blue Dolphin Drive, Burton.
Because of space limitations, only the first 12 participants who pass the swim test will be eligible for the class. The course costs $60, and those who pass it will receive certifications valid for two years.
