Obama's record in office says he won't keep word

I feel compelled to answer the letter "Obama must be held to his word on deficit."

The writer must have been living at the North Pole for the past four years. President Barack Obama has broken promise after promise and acts like a Third World dictator. If he doesn't like a law, he won't enforce it (i.e. immigration law). He makes recess appointments when the Senate isn't in recess. During the fiscal cliff negotiations, he called for compromise and a fair and balanced solution. His idea of compromise is "my way." The final law increased taxes by $650 billion -- increasing taxes on everyone -- and cut spending by only $15 billion (a 41-to-1 ratio). I would hardly call that balanced or fair.

He wants to bypass the House on the debt ceiling debate and wants a blank check to spend as he sees fit. During his first four years, he spent $6 trillion. His spending increased our deficit to more than $16 trillion.

Does the letter writer really think Obama's going to keep his word when he spoke on television Dec. 21 about reducing our debt? Does he really think tweets will affect Obama's decisions on spending? His past spending will be miserly compared with the way he'll spend the next four years. Obama and all Democrats are tax-and-spend OPMs (other people's money). Don't hold your breath waiting for him to keep his promises because it just ain't going to happen.
