The sixth annual Publix Bluffton New Year's Day Polar Bear 5K Run and Walk will hit the road at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Buckwalter Place.
This year's race will feature a new course that will start and finish at Buckwalter Place and will take participants through Buckwalter Place and down both the Buckwalter and Bluffton parkways.
The 5K run and fitness walk will be chip timed, and awards will be presented to the top overall and age group finishers. In addition to the 5K, there will also be a one-mile dog and health walk.
A post-race block party will feature an awards ceremony and refreshments with music and more. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Palmetto Animal League and the Bluffton Fins Swim Team.
Race day registration is 8:45-9:30 a.m. at Buckwalter Place.
