Vandals slashed inflatable Christmas decorations and shattered lights this week in two Bluffton neighborhoods.
Several reports were made to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office about hundreds of dollars' worth of damages to decorated lawns in The Willows and Sandy Pointe neighborhoods.
On Monday, Ryan Thompson of Hollowtail Drive in The Willows found that the 40 twinkling candy canes in his yard had been stomped to bits. On Tuesday, two inflatable decorations were cut to pieces.
"We like to decorate the house because we have little kids, and it's a shame to have them come out and see it's all been crushed," Thompson said.
He will no longer string lights or buy inflatables, he said.
Other damages were reported on Heartstone Circle.
In the Sandy Pointe, decorated yards on Sunny Glen Drive and East Morningside Drive were also vandalized.
