Zonta Clubs of Hilton Head Island and Bluffton are seeking nominations for the 2012 Zonta Woman of the Year Award.

The 20-year-old award recognizes local women who have made significant contributions in their professions and to the community.

Nominees should spend at least 24 hours a week at their professions and participate in a variety of causes and community organizations. They should also hold leadership roles in those organizations, according to the club.

Nomination forms may be picked up at the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, 1 Chamber of Commerce Drive, Hilton Head Island, or at the chamber office in Old Town Bluffton at 216 Bluffton Road.

Nominations should be submitted by Dec. 20 to Sandy Gillis, 2 Stevens Court, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926; e-mailed to sgillis@islandpacket.com; or faxed to 843-706-5050.

The award will be presented Feb. 2 at the annual chamber ball.
