BATTERY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL

EVENTS

  • Cheerleading camp for first- through eighth-graders will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 15 in the gym. The camp will teach fundamentals of cheerleading and dance. Students will perform at the Beaufort High vs. Battery Creek High basketball game that night. The camp costs $25. Details: Lydia Williams, 843-522-5500, lydia.williams@beaufort.k12.sc.us
  • The school's Fine Arts Holiday Gala will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at John J. McVey Performing Arts Center. It will feature the Dolphin Pride Band, chorus groups, gospel choir, strings program, varsity choir, drama students and work from the visual arts programs. Admission is free.
  • The next PTSO meeting will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 18 in the media center. The SIC meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m.
  • OTHER

  • Season tickets to basketball games are on sale for half price through Friday. Adults pay $30 and students pay $15 through then. The tickets are valid for admission to all home regular season games. Details: Coach John Drafts, 843-322-5574

    HELPING HANDS

  • The all-school coat drive begins today and runs through Dec. 18. It is done in cooperation with Furniture Warehouse's 22nd annual coat drive.

    ENRICHMENT

  • Third- through eighth-grade students with a high ability and interest in visual and performing arts should register for gifted and talented arts screenings. The screenings will be Jan. 12 at Robert Smalls Intermediate and Middle School and Jan. 26 at Bluffton High School. The deadline to register is Dec. 12.   • High School Night for eighth-graders and their families will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria. Each school will give an overview of their programs, and students can then "visit" all three schools during breakout sessions.
