Hilton Head Prep 70, Laurence Manning 65 (OT): Strong efforts off the bench by Sam McCracken and John Sheehan helped send Hilton Head Prep into the championship game of the Shoney's Invitational hosted by Colleton Prep.
McCracken, a ninth-grade forward, finished with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Sheehan scored 14 points. McCracken had a key basket in overtime, and Sheehan hit a pair of free throws to put the game out of reach.
Laurence Manning (5-2), last season's SCISAA Class 3-A state champion, got off to a fast start behind some hot shooting. The Swampcats hit 8 of 12 from 3-point range to take a 26-14 lead with three minutes to go in the first half. Hilton Head Prep (2-0) responded with a 19-10 run to cut the deficit to three at halftime.
John Eck finished with 13 points, Shaun Topper had six rebounds and Cole Gardocki led Prep with six assists.
The Dolphins will take on Hilton Head Christian Academy in tonight's championship game. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. in Walterboro.
Hilton Head Christian 53, St. John's Christian 47 (Thursday): Brad Meccariello scored 23 points to lead the Eagles into the championship game of the Shoney's Invitational in Walterboro.
Zach Polk added 12 points, Caleb Lewis had nine points and Josh Polk pulled down 10 rebounds for Hilton Head Christian (3-0).
The boys final of Colleton Prep's tournament tips off at 7:30 tonight. Hilton Head Christian will face island rival Hilton Head Prep for the title.

Dorchester Academy 49, Hilton Head Prep 36: The Dolphins slipped to 0-2 under first-year coach Dan Sheehan with a loss in the Colleton Prep tournament.
Kendall Smith had 10 points to lead Hilton Head Prep.
