A Hilton Head Island man is accused of receiving marijuana in the mail, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Investigations Section.
Michael J. Fink, 33, was charged Friday with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
The Sheriff's Office says it learned that a package was being shipped from Colorado to Hilton Head that might contain marijuana. After getting a search warrant, officers said they found a pound of marijuana in the package, which was addressed to "Mike Finkel."
Investigators located Fink at the address listed on the package, which is on Sea Oak Lane in the South Forest Beach area, and he admitted to receiving marijuana in the mail, the release said. He also had received similar packages for several months, and a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found at his home, according to the release.
The investigation continues. Additional suspects may be charged, and Fink could face more charges, the release said.
