The Associated Press story published Monday describes a method of pumping slurry 30 feet into the ground to raise the shoreline. That is ridiculous and super expensive.
Imagine the cost of installing these pumps for hundred of miles along the shore. And for what? To save homes that should not be there?
How about restricting construction by the shoreline. Ocean levels will continue to go up, so build farther inland. Oh, but that is such a simple solution.
