Two single-car accidents Friday in Ridgeland sent two people to the hospital, one of whom is in critical condition.
Milton Leroy Tyson, 48, of Ridgeland remained in critical condition Saturday after a crash on Frontage Road, according to a news release from Cpl. Tim East of the Ridgeland Police Department.
Tyson was driving southbound in a 2003 Ford Focus at 6:40 p.m. Friday when he drove off the right shoulder, over-corrected and struck a tree off the left shoulder, according to the release.
Tyson was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car, the release said. He was flown to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
The crash is being investigated by Ridgeland Police; charges had not been filed as of late Saturday, the release said.
The other crash injured a 25-year-old Marion man.
Marcus Dale Fladger was driving north on Interstate 95 in a 2002 Ford pickup at about 4 p.m. when he lost control near the 22-mile marker, according to the release.
Fladger's truck hit the median guardrail, then crossed back across the northbound lanes and struck a tree.
Fladger also was flown to Memorial University Medical Center, according to the news release. East could not provide an update on his condition late Saturday.
