It was wonderful to read the story in the Gazette on Nov. 14 about Connie and Chuck Duke. We are thrilled they have received the recognition they so deserve -- the Spirit of Giving Award from the Beaufort Memorial Hospital Foundation trustees.

My husband and I moved here five years ago and were fortunate to meet Connie and Chuck soon thereafter.

Chuck's help has been invaluable; his friendship, priceless. Connie is a "first responder" each time she is called upon. Whether through her job or in her personal life, she is present to all. There was a time when we had serious health issues. Connie helped us through.

Well done, Connie and Chuck.
