A man was shot in the side Friday night in Beaufort after two men ordered him to remove his clothing and he refused.
As he was being treated at Beaufort Memorial Hospital for his wound, the 53-year-old man told deputies he was in his truck around midnight on Broad River Boulevard when two men in white masks approached, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. The victim got out of the truck to confront the men and saw that one had a handgun while the other had a long gun, a news release said.
The men ordered him to remove his clothing. When he refused, one of them shot him, the release said. The victim ran and called a relative who drove him to the hospital, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening wound to the torso.
