HOSPITAL AUXILIARY INVITATIONAL: What: 26th annual Hospital Auxiliary Invitational presented by the Corkern Group; When: Dec. 10-11; Where: Harbour Town Golf Links and Wexford Golf Club, Hilton Head Island; Cost: $250 per player; Notes: Cost includes prizes, food and beverage each day and an awards ceremony. Net proceeds benefit the Auxiliary at Hilton Head Hospital and will be used to provide medical and nursing scholarships, and prescription medicine for those in need. BEAUFORT COUNTY PALS AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM: What: Registration for Beaufort County Parks and Leisure Services After-School Program; Who: Kindergarten through fifth grade; Where: Burton Wells Recreation Center in Beaufort and Buckwalter Recreation Center in Bluffton; Cost: $75 per month, extra fees will apply for full days of after-school care when school is not in session. Notes: The program is from 3-6 p.m. on school days, and includes homework assistance, arts & crafts, snacks and recreation. MOVE WELL 5K: What: Part of the Run Around the World 5K Challenge to benefit Soles4Souls, which provides shoes for the needy; When: 9 a.m. Nov. 17; Where: Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa, Port Royal Plantation; Cost: Free; Notes: First 50 registered racers will receive a commemorative T-shirt. All pre-registered racers will receive a commemorative shirt and be entered into a prize raffle. Awards to top 3 overall runners, and participation medals for everyone. JINGLE JINGLE RUN: What: 21st annual Hilton Head Hospital Jingle Jingle 5K Run and Health Walk; When: 9 a.m., Dec. 22; Where: Hilton Head Regional Medical Center Campus and Main Street; Notes: All standard male and female divisions. First 400 participants receive an event T-shirt, jingle bells and a candy cane. Participants who run in an elf or santa costume will receive a $5 Bear Foot Sports discount coupon. TENNIS

JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS REGISTRATION: What: PTI/USTA fall and winter team competition; Who: Tennis players of any ability from ages 10 to 18; Notes: Children are put into age groups to compete as singles, doubles or mixed doubles. DAVID M. CARMINES MEMORIAL TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS: When: Nov. 16-18; Where: Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center, Hilton Head Island; Cost: Ages 8-10 -- $25; Juniors -- $40 for one event or $50 for two; Adults -- $45 for one event or $55 for two; Notes: Adult and junior divisions. Junior event is USTA sanctioned, and will feature QuickStart format for younger divisions. Adult tournament will have singles, doubles and mixed doubles divisions. All proceeds go to the David M. Carmines Foundation and benefit the Hilton Head Island Recreation Center, the American Cancer Society, and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
