I want to thank The Island Packet for its endorsement of my candidacy for Beaufort County school board. Above all, I appreciate the fact that the Packet takes an interest in local elections, especially when it comes to elections that affect our children's education.
I also want to take this opportunity to wish Paul Roth all the best with his future tenure on the board and thank those who helped me with my campaign. Many thanks to those in the tea party, the Republican Club, the Democratic Club and others who helped with gathering signatures for my petition and for providing campaign guidance. Special thanks to Jane and Jack Kenny for their support and guidance.
As I take a look back at my campaign themes and the ideas I was hoping to implement, I still plan to work to make those things happen. I'll just be working at it from a different angle. My focus will still be on school choice, student achievement, fiscal responsibility, professional teachers and a supportive administration. I still believe the recent implementation of iPads in our middle and high schools will herald a new learning revolution in the classroom. I will keep my website (schoolchoiceforsouthcarolina.blogspot.com) active as a resource and reference point.
I very much enjoyed talking to many different groups, interviewing with Sun City Hilton Head television and meeting all the other fine candidates. I wish the new board all the best in its efforts to guide the school system into the future.
