Bluffton slides, Whale Branch enters final high school football poll of season

Bluffton High School dropped two spots, while Whale Branch made its first appearance of the season this week in the final S.C. Prep Football Media Poll, conducted by The (Columbia) State.

The Bobcats (10-1) dropped from No. 4 to No. 6 in the Class 4-A poll after falling 31-22 to Summerville in their regular-season finale Friday night.

Whale Branch (7-3) upset Allendale-Fairfax (9-1), 32-22, on the road in the first round of the Class 1-A playoffs and enters the poll at No. 9.

Goose Creek, Hartsville, Silver Bluff and Christ Church are the top-ranked teams in Class 4-A, 3-A, Class 2-A and Class 1-A, respectively.
