Beaufort County Council recently approved the name of the new rails-to-trail, with the construction scheduled to begin in a few months. If "Spanish Moss Rail Trail" was approved, and not "Spanish Moss Trail," they should reconsider the name.

Rails-to-trails typically do not have the name "rail" in the name, mainly because the rail is entirely removed and the pathway is converted to a different use.
