A woman said she was robbed at gunpoint at about 3 a.m. June 11 at The Oaks apartment complex on Hilton Head Island, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The woman reported Monday that she was sitting on her porch when a dark car pulled up in front of her apartment, and a man demanding money held a handgun to her temple.

The woman handed over $220, and the robber fled, according to an incident report. The culprit is described only as a tall, thin black man, according to the alleged victim.
