Beaufort High School boys basketball coach Bruce Beasley picked up his 300th career victory Friday, as the Eagles overcame an early deficit to win in overtime on senior night against Ashley Ridge, 53-51.
Tyrone Holmes' free throws with 15 seconds left sent the game to overtime. And Beaufort High guard Joey Chaplin's 3-pointer in the extra period propelled the Eagles.
Chaplin led Beaufort High with 13 points. Jordan Broussard and Tyrone Holmes each added 12. Henry Jenkins scored eight points and Martin Washington finished with six.
Ashley Ridge was led by Fred Weeks' 18 points. Romelo Doctor added 15.
The Eagles trailed 29-16 at halftime.
"They were determined to come back," Beasley said. "In adversity all year, we've been able to respond."
Beaufort High improved to 13-7 and 4-1 in Region 8-AAAA. The team travels to Summerville on Friday.
