The Bluffton Post Office is opening a new carrier annex to serve customers in the 29909 ZIP code, Postmaster George Finley announced Friday. The new facility will be at 208 Red Oaks Way.
Carrier annexes are staging facilities where letter carriers prepare their mail for delivery .
There will be no retail service at the facility, according to a news release issued by Finley. Stamp purchases, money orders, passports and other retail transactions will continue to be made at the Bluffton Post Office at 25 Thurmond Way. However, customers who live in the 29909 ZIP code area should go to the annex to pick up packages, COD items, certified mail and registered mail.
Carriers will begin delivering mail from the annex Aug. 31.
