The Sons of the American Revolution presented senior Bluffton firefighter Jeff Kuehn with its Emergency Medical Service Award.
Kuehn began his career with the Bluffton Township Fire District in January 2007 and has since been promoted and certified as a nationally registered paramedic, according to a news release.
Kuehn also serves on the fire district's medical-advisory board, which sets medical protocols. He also helped the district adopt its "pit crew" approach to cardiac arrests and created an instructional video for fire district employees, the release said.
He is assigned to Station 33 as an engine driver and paramedic.
