The Gamecock faithful were not happy Saturday night -- at least those who live in the Moss Creek area of greater Bluffton.
A Hargray service outage meant USC fans eager to see South Carolina take on LSU had to flee to area bars and restaurants to watch the game.
The outage, reported at about 2 p.m., affected the area surrounding the Tanger Outlet malls, according to Robert Gilbert, a Hargray spokesman. It was caused when a Time Warner contractor accidentally cut Hargray fiber cables, Gilbert said.
"It was a pretty major area that was cut," he said at about 9:30 p.m.
Gilbert said service was expected to be restored by 1 a.m. Sunday.
