Authorities in Jasper County are being tight-lipped about possible developments in their investigation into a double homicide last month in Ridgeland.
A spokesman for the Jasper County Sheriff's Office declined last week to discuss the agency's ongoing investigation or say whether investigators have learned what brought two Georgia men to the Ridgeland boat landing where they were found shot to death April 13.
"We have nothing new to release," said Chief Deputy Roy Hughes.
A passerby stumbled upon the bodies of Glenn Garett Settles, 22, of Jesup, Ga., and Watson Kyle Allen, 23, of Bloomingdale, Ga., inside a pickup truck while walking toward a popular public boat landing on Tutens Landing Road, according to the Jasper County Coroner's Office.
Settles and Allen were shot multiple times with a "large caliber" handgun while they were inside the truck, according to authorities.
No items were reported stolen from the truck.
Authorities have yet to name any suspects in the investigation.
