Two Hilton Head Island employers were among 59 South Carolina businesses to be recognized this week for supporting members of the National Guard and reservists from other branches, according to a news release.
Hilton Head Plantation Security and the Town of Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue Division are among the state's nominees for the 2012 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the release said.
The winners will be announced this summer and will be recognized during a ceremony in September in Washington, D.C.
