The Carolina Lowcountry Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold orientation and disaster services classes for new volunteers at its Bluffton offices, 59 Sheridan Park Circle. Classes are 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 20, Oct. 6 and Oct. 18.

The Red Cross also needs licensed health professionals to help those affected by home fires or other disasters.

A health-services response workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Bluffton office. Health-services volunteers will learn to assess the needs of Red Cross disaster clients and provide them assistance.
