Beaufort's Water Festival a great success

We thank Beaufort Water Festival Commodore Bob Bible and his crew of coordinators and directors for making the 56th annual festival a success.

The tweaking done since last year helped with Teen Night, and the festival again this year was a source of pride for the full community.

We thank the corporate sponsors, led by Hargray, Lee Distributors, Adventure Radio Group, Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Ocean Light Electric, Pender Brothers and
Vaden of Beaufort. Scores of other sponsorships from throughout the community were needed to pull off the 10-day festival.

Also, hundreds of volunteers contributed time -- in some cases including their personal vacation time -- to keep the festival tradition alive.

All the effort is worthwhile when the community sees multiple generations gathering, simply to relax, compete or have fun. It is worthwhile when friends through the years return to Beaufort for the festival. It is all worthwhile when the result is family-oriented, wholesome enjoyment of Beaufort's grand hospitality and environment.

Thank you all.
