The 52 students of Hilton Head Preparatory School's Class of 2011 graduated Saturday in the Joseph B. Fraser Jr. Field House on the school's campus.
Total amount of scholarship money earned by the graduates: $3.9 million
Speakers: Headmaster Anthony Kandel; the valedictorian introduced by Tina Webb-Browning of the science department; and the salutatorian introduced by Katrin Clark of the mathematics department.
Valedictorian: Catherine Qiuzi Zhu plans to begin a pre-medical track at the University of Michigan.
Salutatorian: Kathleen Jane Blum plans to study economics at Duke University.
From the principal: "The Class of 2011 is a tremendously talented and accomplished group of young people. They have excelled and earned great accolades in every area possible: academics, athletics, the arts, and community service. What I will remember most about this class, however, is their character.
