The Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue Division will set side-by-side fires Saturday to help people understand the dangers of home fires and the importance of prevention, detection, suppression and escape.
The live fire and sprinkler demonstrations will be at 10 a.m. at 40 Summit Drive and show how a typical home fire becomes deadly in three minutes or less. The Fire & Rescue Division will have firefighters and firetrucks on hand. There will also be a tour of the training facility. The event is free and open to the public.
Details: Call the division's public education officer at 843-682-5141.
